September 6, 2007, Clinton, South Carolina: Former Bell Street Middle School teacher Allenna Williams Ward admitted to having had sexual encounters with five of the school's male students aged 14 and 15. Ward pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and three lewd acts on a minor.
Police began investigating Ward in 2007 after officials found a note she wrote to one of the boys. She was fired from the school on February 28, 2007.
UPDATE: On February 19, 2008, Allenna Williams Ward was sentenced to six years in prison for three criminal sexual conduct counts.
