Details
Fexofenidine is generally extremely well tolerated, although it can cause nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, and fatigue. Theoretically, it is possible to overdose on fexofenidine, but there have been very few instances, so the results are poorly understood. In rodent testing, doses that were effectively up to four hundred times the effective human doses were nonlethal. Fexofenidine is a metabolite of terfenadine (meaning that the body naturally metabolizes terfenadine into fexofenidine), an older antihistimine which had more severe side effects, and was supplanted by fexofenidine due to the superior side effect profile.FDA: FDA APPROVES ALLEGRA-D, MANUFACTURER TO WITHDRAW SELDANE FROM MARKETPLACEDisclaimer
