Allegiant Air is a low-cost airline headquartered in Nevada, operating in select cities in the United States. The airline's focus city will be Los Angeles out of LAX airport as of May 1, 2009.
Allegiant Air offered a special $15 fare promotion on April 15, Tax Day 2009 for flights arriving and departing from LAX. The purpose of the promotion was to advertise their new base at LAX and to celebrate the deadline for submitting your taxes. The promotion was met with an overwhelming response, even causing the Allegiant website to crash sporadically throughout the day.
