All Apologies is a yet to be released movie due out in 2011 about the life of former Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain. The movie is based on Cobain's life, in addition to the biography of him entitled "Heavier than Heaven" written by Charles Cross.http://www.themovieinsider.com/m4420/all-apologies/
Rumors circulated wildly about Twilight and New Moon star Robert Pattinson being cast in the starring role as Cobain. The Sun put out an article on April 9, 2010 saying that Pattinson was a done deal as the lead singer. The statement said that Cobain's former wife, Courtney Love wanted Pattinson as Cobain and blonde bombshell Scarlett Johansson to play her. The rumor goes on to speculate that the director of choice would be David Fincher.http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/2925411/Robert-Pattinson-to-play-Kurt-Cobain-in-a-Hollywood-biopic.html
The rumor was quashed on the afternoon of April 9, 2010 when Love's manager Jonathan Daniel stated that he knew nothing about the rumor. Daniel told SPIN the following:
“That’s an amazing story, and the first I’ve heard of any of this,” Daniel said. “They manage to fit pretty much everyone in Hollywood into an article without one fact check."
Courtney likes Scarlett Johansson as an actress and as a person, so it wouldn’t surprise me if she wanted her to play her. I’m not sure she knows who R Patz is, but he sure is cute.”http://www.ecanadanow.com/entertainment/2010/04/09/robert-pattinson-not-playing-kurt-cobain-in-movie/ The rumor was also later quashed by Entertainment Weekly, via confirmation from Universal.http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/04/09/rob-pattinson-kurt-cobain-biopic/
The movie is currently not in production or development, though a deal with Universal Studios does exist. There has been no confirmation one way or the other regarding Fincher's involvement at this time. He is expected to direct the movie adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in the fall of 2010, so he may be unavailable for the job should things move as scheduled.http://www.cinematical.com/2010/04/09/robert-pattinson-to-play-kurt-cobain-for-david-fincher/
Cobain committed suicide on April 5, 1994 when he died of a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He left behind Love, and their daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.http://kurtcobain.com/biography/kurt-donald-cobain-february-20-1967-%E2%80%93-april-5-1994/
