All About My Mother is a 2000 film written and directed by Pedro Almodovar, starring Cecilia Roth, Marisa Paredes, Penelope Cruz and Fernando Fernan Gomez. It won the Academy Award for "Best Foreign Language Film." The film tells the story of a single mom Manuela, whose son dies in a car accident, setting her on a search for the father of her now-dead son.

Plot Synopsis
Manuela is a single mother in Madrid caring for her son Esteban. One day, Esteban is hit by a car and dies. This is such a shock to Manuela, that she moves to Barcelona, trying to find the father of her dead son. The father is a transvestite named Lola, who is unaware that he has a son. She meets Rosa, a nun who finds out she is pregnant from Lola. Manuela helps Rosa through the rough pregnancy. -
