Alienware is a computer company that is a subsidiary for Dell. Alienware primarily produces computers for high-end consumers that play video games on their computers, or other advanced computer activities such as video editing and encoding.
History
Alienware was founded in 1996 to develop high-end computers for people that demand computers that can perform extremely well and extremely fast. The company was initially designed to exploit the computer gaming market, which was relatively unexploited. Alienware quickly grew to become a household name that was notorious for high-end computer gaming systems.
Competitors
Alienware has many competitors which include VoodooPC, Velocity Micro, and many others since companies have begun to see the advantages of entering into the high-end computing market.
The Dell Acquisition
On March 22, 2006, Dell acquired Alienware computers in other to be more competitive in the computer gaming industry. By purchasing Alienware, Dell now had the available resources to make high-end gaming machines.
