Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is the 2007 sequel to the popular Alien vs Predator film. The movie once again pits the creatures from the Alien and Predator film franchises against each other. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem grossed $10,059,425 opening weekend but got poor reviews from the critics.

In the first Alien vs Predator the battle took place underground in Antarctica, but in the sequel, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, the fight is moved to the United States. The film takes place immediately after the first AVP. A Predator scout ship crashes outside a small town in Colorado and aliens are released in the crash along with a hybrid Alien/Predator. A Predator receives a message about the crash and comes to earth to hunt down the Aliens and kill anyone in his path.

Like Freddy vs. Jason or Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, the showdown between Alien (face-hugging, vagina-dentata mawed) and Predator (dreadlocked, vagina-dentata mawed) is both trashy and inexplicable. Don't expect illumination on the grudge between these two. Instead, expect a brisk, gooey bit of schlock that's a million times better than 2004's action-lite AVP. The money shot? A pregnant woman's belly explodes, revealing a litter of baby aliens. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is a B movie that truly earns its B — Entertainment Weekly
