Singer Alicia Keys claims in an interview with Blender Magazine that gangsta rap was a government "ploy to convince black people to kill each other." In the May 2008 issue, Keys also comments that the government had involvement with the bi-coastal feud that killed rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.. According to reports, the singer also wears an AK-47 gold charm around her neck which symbolizes, "strength, power, and killing 'em dead."
