Alfred Smith Dinner

The Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner is an annual fund raising event for Catholic Charities. The dinner is in honor of former New York Governor Al Smith. Presidential candidates traditionally give humorous speeches at the dinners during election years. In 2008, John McCain and Barack Obama roasted each other at the dinner on Thursday, October 16, 2008.
