Alfred Russel Wallace

  • Alfred Russel Wallace was a British naturalist of the 19th Century who introduced a theory of natural selection about the time as Charles Darwin published On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. He conducted fieldwork in Indonesia and the Amazon River.   • Darwin and Wallace

    Wallace corresponded with Darwin in discussions on natural selection. His research on natural selection was read together with Darwin's research at the Linnaean Society in London in 1858.
