Alfred Hrdlicka is an Austrian artist born in 1928. He sparked controversy with his own portrayal of The Last Supper, the event where Jesus of Nazareth shared a dinner with his twelve apostles and disciples before his crucifixion.
In his portrayal, Hrdlicka sketched what he describes as a "homosexual orgy". The collection, titled "Religion, Flesh and Power", was displayed at the museum that is attached to Vienna's Roman Catholic Cathedral, but was removed after many complaints.Telegraph.uk: Outrage over Alfred Hrdlicka's Gay Jesus
Quotes
