  • Alfre Woodard is an American television and film actress. She portrayed Alice Pratt in the 2008 film, The Family That Preys.
  • Career

    After years of work, Woodard found her breakout role in hospital drama St. Elsewhere, as Dr. Roxanne Turner (a role she would reprise a decade later in Life on the Street). Since then, while never achieving superstar status, Woodard has turned in notable work in feature films that have often not found a large audience.
  • Charity Work

    Woodard is a cofounder of Artists for a New South Africa, an organization that works to end AIDS in South Africa and increase democracy in the country, as well as to improve civil rights in the United States.
