Alfons Haider is an Austrian television presenter. In 2009, British media claimed the host of Strictly Come Dancing was the "real-life Bruno" from Sacha Baron Cohen summer 2009 film.
Haider does not believe he has much in common with the fictional character telling the Telegraph, "I never understood the comparison to myself at all. The only comparisons I can think of is that I'm Austrian, I'm gay, and I work for television, but the rest is completely fiction."Telegraph: Is this the real Bruno? (June 17, 2009)
