Russian professional hockey player Alexei Zhitnik plays for the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League
NHL Career
Zhitnik was drafted 81st overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1991 NHL Draft. He played one season in Russia after the draft before joining the Kings in 1992 for his NHL debut. On February 14, 1995, Zhitnik was traded to the Buffalo Sabres. He stayed in Buffalo until August 2, 2005, when he signed as a free agent with the New York Islanders. A December 16, 2006, trade sent him to the Philadelphia Flyers. Zhednik was traded again on February 24, 2007, and was sent to the Atlanta Thrashers.
