NHL Career
Steen was drafted 24th overall in the 2002 NHL draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He continued to play in Sweden, for the Frolunda HC and the MODO Hockey teams, until 2005, when he made his NHL debut with the Maple Leafs. Steen made an impact in 2007 and was selected to play in the NHL YoungStars Game. He renewed his contract with the Leafs on February 23, 2008, to stay with the franchise for an additional two years.
