  • Career

Alex Toth wanted to make his mark in newspaper comic strips, but shifted to comic books when it became evident that the age of the newspaper strip was ending. He sold his first freelance commission at the age of 15, and went to work for DC Comics upon graduating from the High School of Industrial Art.

Toth worked in comics for DC, Dell, and others, but his strongest influence was as an animator and production designer for Hanna-Barbera Studios. Toth helped create Space Ghost, Josie and the Pussycats, Birdman, Mightor, and the Super Friends.
