Alex Ross is an American comic book artist, whose photorealistic approach to illustrating earned him a following from fans of both DC Comics and Marvel.
Career
Inspired by Queen's Queen II album cover and the artwork of 1970s comic book artists, Alex Ross made his breakthrough with 1994's Marvels series. The storyline, which depicted a photojournalist's point of view on the Marvel Universe, fit perfectly with Ross's drawing style.
He then worked extensively for DC Comics, starting with the Kingdom Come series in 1996, and then several tabloid-size graphic novels for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Shazam from 1998 to 2003.
For Marvel Comics, Ross illustrated the Earth X characters, followed by the Avengers/Invaders series in 2008.
