American Idol
March 2: Alex confesses that he vomits before every performance in a video clip airing before his performance of John Legend's' "Everybody Knows." In 6th grade he created a special private language that he uses to write songs. He felt that last week he didn't know where to put his hands etc. He is working on loving being on stage instead of being terrified. He is hoping this week will be easier with his guitar. Randy starts off the judging... he has his own language too. He finds Alex much improved and loves the performance with the guitar. Ellen feels that the banana ripened and he is very much improved. She comments on the mullet as well as his unique voice and style. Kara feels that everyone is rooting for him and that Alex has a very recordable voice. Simon offers that it is a million times better than last week. And that he should not be nervous, but needs to develop a killer instinct and take advantage of his opportunity.
February 24: For his debut live performance on American Idol, Lambert performed "A Wonderful World," originally by James Morrison. Simon Cowell said it was the most uncomfortable performance of the night, but that he has to get his nerves together to make it. Kara DioGuardi wanted to give him a hug, then said that he has great potential and to believe in himself. Randy Jackson asked him to start singing with conviction and that Jackson really likes Lambert. Ellen Degeneres said "I like bananas, but it's just not ripe enough yet and you need to ripen."
