Alex Holmes, a 17-year-old teen from suburban Chicago, robbed a Hinsdale, Illinois, Dunkin' Donuts on April 7, 2009. He returned to the store the following day to return the $167 he stole and apologize for the incident. How It Went Down
At approximately 3:05 a.m. local time, Holmes entered the back door of a suburban Chicago Dunkin' Donuts store. Holmes confronted the same employee, who did not speak English well, and wrote a note apologizing for the crime.
