  • Major League Baseball third baseman Alex Gordon currently plays with the Kansas City Royals.

    Prior to his MLB career, Gordon was a star player at the University of Nebraska, and was selected for several awards, including the Golden Spikes Award in 2005 for the best amateur player.

    Gordon was drafted on June 7, 2005 by the Kansas City Royals. He joined the Royals AA affiliate for the 2006 season, playing in 130 games and being named the Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year.

    Gordon was called up to make his MLB debut on April 2, 2007 with the Royals, and joined them for 151 games that season. On March 2, 2008 he re-signed with the Royals, where he is expected to be on the full roster for the 2008 season.
