  • Early Life

    Jose Alexander Cora was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on October 18, 1975. He would attend the University of Miami where he would reach the College World Series and be named to the All-Tournament team.
  • Pro Career

    Cora would be originally drafted in 1993 by the Minnesota Twins in the 12th round, but did not sign. He would be drafted again in 1996 by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He would establish himself as an excellent defensive middle infielder earning a starting role for several years on the club. In 2005, Cora would sign with the Cleveland Indians. He would later be traded to the Boston Red Sox for Ramon Vazquez in 2005. He would sign as a free agent with the Red Sox in 2006, where he would establish himself as a role player and defensive replacement.
