Czech professional hockey player Ales Kotalik plays for the Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League.

NHL Career
Kotalik was drafted 164th overall in the 1998 NHL draft by the Buffalo Sabres. He continued to play in the Czech Extraliga (Czech Elite League) for three years after the draft. Kotalik joined the Sabres in the 2001-02 regular season for his NHL debut, but split the season between the Sabres and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans. Kotalik played one season with the HC Bili Tygri Liberec in the Czech Republic during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout before returning to the Sabres in 2005.
