Upon leaving Parsons school of design, Alejandro immediately became a designer at the family firm, Ingelmo Shoes. Alejandro eventually took over at Ingelmo Shoes from Manolo Blahnik and now is a world famous shoes designer. Alejandro regularly designs for celebrities worldwide including Madonna and Guy Ritchie.

Let me tell you something: I go to Starbucks every day, and I wear my shoes. And there’s a Starbucks guy who saw my sneakers and he was like, “Oh my God, those shoes are hot!” He asked where he can get them, and I said like, well, I make them, so if you want I’ll let you know the next time there’s a sample sale. A month went by, I went back, and he said to me, “What’s up, I bought your shoes!” And I told him he shouldn’t have, that I would have told him when there was a sample sale.
