The more common but less sever side effects for Aldara are; redness, stinging, swelling, itching, rash or inflammation of the area. The following are also side effects but are rare or infrequent in most patients; infection of the sinuses, nose or throat, dizziness, headache, backache, thickening of the outer layer of skin, flu like symptoms, (i.e. vomiting, chills, diarrhea, fever and tiredness), loss of hair, tenderness and congestion of the sinuses and discoloration of the skin.
