Alcoholism Treatment Side Effects
Withdrawal can be a potentially dangerous side effect of alcoholism treatment. As a person "dries out" or detoxes over a period of days, the body may have a powerful withdrawal reaction. Persons going through alcohol withdrawal may experience nausea or vomiting, sweating or shakiness. In more serious cases, a condition known as delirium tremens, or DTs, may occur.
