Robert Plant and Alison Krauss won the Album of the Year award at the 2009 Grammys on February 8, 2009, for Raising Sand. Other nominees were Radiohead for In Rainbows, Coldplay for Viva la Vida, Lil Wayne for Tha Carter III and Ne-Yo for Year of the Gentleman.
The Album of the Year award is the Grammys' most coveted, and is presented to the artists, producers and engineers involved in the production of an entire album as opposed to a single song.
