Life and Career
Albert Brooks was born in Beverly Hills, California. His mother was actress Thelma Leeds, and his father was radio comedian Harry Parke.
Brooks went to college at Carnegie Tech but dropped out to pursue a career as a comic. He released two comedy albums in 1974 and 1975. He then moved to Hollywood, and in 1976 he appeared in Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver.
During the 1980s and 90s Brooks appeared in more films, but his biggest grossing film to date has been Finding Nemo (2003), for which he lent his voice.
