Albania Army Base Blast

  • A series of explosions at an arms depot near the Albanian capital, Tirana killed at least four people on March 15, 2008. 160 people may have been killed including many American workers. The explosions happened as three teams of specialists were dismantling munitions at the base. The first blast triggered other explosions. The fire and subsequenent explosions lasted several hours and caused extensive damage.
