  • Alain Robert climbed The New York Times tower on June 5, 2008, in order to display his banner heralding what he believes to be the most important cause around: global warming.
  • The Banner

Before reaching the top of the tower, Robert unfurled a yellow banner out of his backpack and attached it to the tower. The inscription on the banner read:

"Global warming kills more people than 9/11 every week"

  • Other Conquests

In addition to this climb, Robert has ascended to the top of over 80 buildings world-wide. Other conquests include the Eiffel Tower in Paris, as well as the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

He said he chose the Times tower to promote his global warming agenda because it was already a green building, which represents a step in the right direction, at least in his eyes.
