An argument over a college football game turned deadly for a south Alabama couple on November 8, 2008. Authorities say Dennis and Donna Smith of Escambia County, Alabama, were shot to death following a dispute over the game between Alabama and Louisiana State University. The couple were killed at the home of Michael Williams, near the rural community of Owassa. The Fight
Authorities said the deadly altercation began on the evening of November 8, 2008, shortly after the Alabama/LSU football game ended with a 27-21 overtime Alabama victory. Police say Dennis Smith, an LSU fan, went to Michael Williams' home, and a "physical altercation" began. Smith allegedly got a gun from his vehicle, while Williams, an Alabama fan, retrieved a shotgun.
