    Authorities said the deadly altercation began on the evening of November 8, 2008, shortly after the Alabama/LSU football game ended with a 27-21 overtime Alabama victory. Police say Dennis Smith, an LSU fan, went to Michael Williams' home, and a "physical altercation" began. Smith allegedly got a gun from his vehicle, while Williams, an Alabama fan, retrieved a shotgun.
