  • Al Wilson was a Mississippi-born singer whose soulful ballads often climbed the charts in the 1970s. In 1973, Wilson's rendition of "Show and Tell" reached #1 on the Billboard charts. Johnny Mathis had formerly recorded the hit tune.

    On April 21, 2008, Wilson died in Fontana, California of complications resulting from kidney failure. While his best work was recorded in the 1970s, he continued to perform in night clubs after his heyday had passed.
