The Major League Baseball Most Valuable Player Award is given to the best player in each the National League and American League. In 2008, Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox was named as the American League MVP on November 18, 2008. St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols won the National League MVP award in 2008 as well.
