  • Though he might not be a household name, Al Kooper's music and influence has certainly been heard all over the world. As a session musician in the 1960s, he played keyboard and/or guitar on now-legendary songs such as "Like a Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan (Kooper plays the signature organ part). As a band member, he formed and led Blood, Sweat & Tears (though he would leave the band after the first album, which was written almost entirely by Kooper). As a producer, he discovered Lynyrd Skynyrd in the 1970s and produced some of their biggest hits.

Kooper continues performing today, expanding on a career that has spanned over three decades.
