Al Horford is a professional basketball player currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks. He has won two National Championships with the Florida Gators basketball team, and was considered one of the elite players from the 2007-2008 NBA rookie class.
Early Life
Alfred Joel Horford Reynoso was born in Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic. He would attend Grand Ledge High School in Michigan and then later move on to attend the University of Florida. At the University, he would become the starting center for Florida Gators basketball team which would win two straight National Championships in 2006 and in 2007.
Pro Career
Horford was selected with the 3rd pick in the NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He quickly established himself as one of the premiere players in the rookie class. He won rookie of the month four times and in the NBA All-Star Rookie Challenge he represented the Rookie Class by scoring 19 points and recording 7 rebounds. In his first year his been recognized and disciplined for his intense and aggressive play.
