  • Childhood

    Al Gore III was born into the Gore political dynasty in 1982. At the age of six, Gore was critically injured in a car accident following a Baltimore Orioles game in 1989. After leaving the game with his father, Al Gore III let go of his father's hand and dashed out into traffic. He was struck by a car and thrown 30 feet; he spent three weeks in the hospital, returned home in a body cast, and had 60% of his spleen removed. While recovering from the accident, his father began writing his bestselling environmental book, Earth in the Balance. Al Gore III went on to make a full recovery.
  • Recent Troubles

    In recent years, the younger Gore has had several run-ins with the law. In 2000, Gore was arrested for driving 94 miles per hour in North Carolina, and in 2002, he was arrested for drunk driving in Virginia. The following year, Gore was arrested for drug possession in Bethesda, Maryland, after the car he was driving was stopped for not having its headlights on. Police searched the vehicle and discovered a small amount of marijuana. In his last encounter with the police, Gore was stopped in southern California for driving 100 miles per hour in his Prius. Marijuana, Valium, Vicodin, Xanax, and Adderall were discovered after a police search of his vehicle.
