Al Franken McCain SNL Skit

Comedian and Minnesota Senate candidate Al Franken reportedly had a hand in creating the Darrell Hammond John McCain skit that opened the September 20, 2008 episode of Saturday Night Live. Although Franken did not write the skit, the idea came from Franken as he was recording ads for his own Senate campaign. Franken, a former SNL writer and cast member, has not written for the show in more than 13 years.Politico: Franken helps craft McCain 'SNL' skit (September 20, 2008)
