Al Copeland, the founder of Popeyes chicken, died in Germany on Sunday, March 23rd. He was in Germany for treatment of his cancer illness. Al opened his first Popeyes Chicken stand in 1972, but prior to that he was in poverty. He had over 700 chains of Popeyes Chicken in several countries.
