Al Copeland is a former entrepreneur and restaurateur that founded Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits. Al grew up in poverty and never finished high school. Copeland worked for Tastee Donut, which gave him his franchising and business exposure. In 2007, he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor and shortly thereafter went to a hospital in Munich, Germany in which he passed away.
