  • Akismet is a spam filtering service on the WordPress blogging platform. It can also be used in plugins for other platforms with an API key.
  • How to Get Akismet

    Akismet is already integrated into free WordPress.com blogs. It is also available with self-hosted WordPress.org blogs, but it must be activated with the API key. Bloggers must be registered with WordPress.com to get the API key, which is free for non-commercial bloggers. Professional, commercial and non-profit bloggers can buy an API key. Developers may also purchase an access license.
