Disabled Passengers Controversy

AirTran was fined in August of 2010 by the U.S. Department of Transportation for various violations of laws for assistance of disabled passengers. The fine, which was reported to be $500,000, had to deal mostly with a lack of available wheelchairs made by the airline. Despite the controversy, AirTran spokesperson Christopher White said less than 0.5% of all total AirTran customers made complaints about the issue. AirTran can try and appeal to ruling in order to possible lower the fine.http://www.ajc.com/business/airtran-fined-for-treatment-602801.html
