Airplane! is an acclaimed disaster movie spoof from 1980. Written and directed by Jim Abrahams and the Zucker Brothers, David and Jerry. Airplane! follows a traumatized former pilot (Robert Hayes) who is forced to land a plane after the crew gets food poisoning. The film also stars Leslie Nielsen, Lloyd Bridges, Julie Hagerty, Peter Graves, and basketball star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Abrahams and the Zuckers are known for their parodies, starting with 1977's The Kentucky Fried Movie and continuing after Airplane! with the Naked Gun series.
