There are four different classes of archetypes in the MMORPG, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures: mage, priest, rogue and Soldier. Each class has different capabilities, strengths and weaknesses.

1. Mage: These characters can do damage from long range and use dark powers when the enemy gets close. Characters in the Mage class are:
   • Necromancer
   • Demonologist
   • Herald of Xotli
2. Priest: These characters are are excellent healers, and can expose the weaknesses of the enemies trying to deliver attacks. Characters in this class are:
   • Priest of Mitra
   • Bear Shaman
   • Tempest of Set
3. Rogue: These characters try to deliver maximum damage anyway possible, however they have low defensive gear. The characters in this class are:
   • Barbarian
   • Assassin
   • Ranger
4. Soldiers: These characters wear the heaviest armor among the four archetypes, however they must sacrifice speed for defense. Over time, players can learn how to absorb damage. Characters in this class are:
   • Conqueror
   • Guardian
   • Dark Templar
