Afro Samurai is a third-person action game for the Xbox 360 and PS3 based on the manga and animated series of the same name. Players take the role of the title character as he battles to become the number one samurai in the world.
Story
Following the storyline of the original anime series, Afro Samurai tells the story of the title character, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, in his quest to defeat the warrior who wears the number one headband. Afro, himself, wears the number two headband, meaning he's the only warrior who is allowed to challenge the number one. Because of this, he is fiercely hunted by all of those who wish to challenge the number one. Challenging the man wearing the number one headband is very personal for Afro, because that man also killed his father.Official Site: Afro Samurai
Gameplay
Afro Samurai features a striking, 2D, cell-shaded art style, giving it a unique look and feel. The core gameplay is third-person action, with the player wielding a large sword and capable of a variety of acrobatic moves. The gameplay also relies very much on music, with the enemy AI responding directly to the beats in the soundtrack, which is produced by RZA of Wu-Tang Clan fame. This element enables the player to have very stylized battles and unique encounters throughout the game.IGN: Afro Samurai game overview
