Health Problems
Affenpinschers have been known to suffer from a variety of bone issues, including problems with their hips and knees. They may also face cataracts and heart problems. Their wiry coat requires daily brushing and semi-annually grooming.Sports or Activities
Affenpinschers can be competitively shown or kept as family pets. They were originally bred to control rodent populations in stables and farms. Affenpinschers are smart, yet willful and do require obedience training. They are known to react to unfamiliar sounds and people, sometimes barking hysterically.
