Aesop Rock

Rapper Aesop Rock has released five well-received solo hip-hop albums and also performs with the collective The Weatherman alongside Tame One, Cage Kennylz, Yak Ballz, Camu Tao, El-P, and Breeze Brewin. He's noted for his dense, narrative lyrics and rough, gritty vocal style.

Aesop Rock, real name Ian Bavitz, produced and recorded his first two albums while working during the day as a waiter. In 2000, he released his debut on the label Mush, Float with the help of producer Blockhead, with whom he would continue to collaborate on all his future recordings.

After the success of Float, Rock was signed to the label Definitive Jux, which released his next three records: 2001's Labor Days, 2003's Bazooka Tooth and 2007's None Shall Pass.
