The Adventures of Superman was an alternate title for the Superman comic book published by DC Comics.
-
Synopsis
Although Superman was clearly the most popular character in Action Comics in the late 1930s, the series remained an anthology comic. DC decided to give the character its own series, and the self-titled Superman comics debuted in June 1939.By 1987, Action Comics became a Superman-only book, so the Superman series was renamed to The Adventures of Superman. For the most part, Adventures continued storylines with the other Superman titles (Action Comics, The Man of Steel, and The Man of Tomorrow), but by 2002, Adventures featured exclusive stories.
The last issue of The Adventures of Superman was published in 2006, and it has since returned to its Superman title.
