Adrian Gonzalez was born in San Diego, California on May 8, 1982. He went to Eastlake High School where he developed into a major league caliber player. In 2000, he was the first overall pick in the Major League Baseball Draft by the Florida Marlins. Pro Career
Gonzalez made his major league debut on April 18, 2004 with the Texas Rangers. In his two seasons with the Rangers, he struggled to find playing time behind All-Star first baseman Mark Teixeira. In 2006, he was traded to his hometown San Diego Padres with Chris Young, and Termel Sledge for Adam Eaton and Akinori Otsuka. With the Padres he won the starting role with the team, becoming the everyday first baseman.
