Adderall is a psychostimulant made of amphetamine salts often used to manage ADD/ADHD and narcolepsy. It is a schedule II controlled substance because it has high potential for abuse and addiction. Misuse may result in serious heart problems, blood pressure problems and even sudden death.

ADHD
ADHD treatment is the primary application for Adderall. The hyperactive type of ADHD is characterized by inappropriate running or climbing, difficulting being quiet or taking turns, excessive talking and fidgeting, and disorganization. The inattentive type of ADHD presents typically with careless mistakes, a lack of sustained attention, poor organization, and a tendency to loses things and be easily distracted. The combined type presents with both types of symptoms. -
Narcolepsy
Another application of Adderall is in the treatment of Narcolepsy, a disorder where the patient experiences excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) despite getting adequate rest at night. It's used to to prevent the EDS that accompanies the disorder, although other medications can be used to attempt to improve the quality of nighttime rest.
