Adam Lambert is an actor and singer who was a contestant on the eighth season of American Idol. Before his stint on the reality show, Lambert performed in the touring company for the musicals Wicked and The Ten Commandments. Lambert's debut album titled For Your Entertainment will be released November 23, 2009

Adam's debut performance on the American Music Awards on 11/22/09 shocked America when he and a fellow dancer simulated oral sex, kissed his male keyboardist and grabbed the crotch of a female dancer. ABC received 1500 complaints after the performance due to the racy content and ABC later canceled his performance on Good Morning America because they were worried about similar controversial antics from Lambert. CBS' The Early Show quickly snatched him up to sing 2 songs from his new album "For Your Entertainment" and to address the controversy from the AMAs. However CBS has been since criticized for blurring Adam's kiss with his male keyboardist but not blurring a similar kiss from the VMAs with Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Viewers are claiming that CBS is guilty of the same double standard that Adam was speaking about in the interview. Adam's debut cd sales have soared since his AMA performance and many are saying that this controversy will end up helping sales by keeping him on everyone's mind during the first few weeks of the release.

On May 26, 2009, The New York Times reported that AT&T swayed fans to vote for Kris Allen. Sources claim AT&T provided phones with free text-messaging and even gave lessons in how to power vote at parties in Arkansas for Allen. MTV.com reported on April 14, 2009, that Lambert was up for the lead role in the Broadway Spider-Man Musical titled Turn Off The Dark. However, Lambert was unable to audition for the role as he was already involved in American Idol. In the first week of March 2009, photos surfaced on the Internet of Adam Lambert kissing another man, known only as "Brad." American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi spoke about Lambert's sexuality on The View in late May 2009 and said she thinks he has been "always openly out [of the closet]." On May 25, 2009 the Seattle Post Intelligencer reported that Lambert might just be the next front man for rock band Queen.
