  • Delray Beach, Florida, public relations manager Adam Jasinski won season nine of the hit CBS reality show Big Brother.

    In an early-season discussion with his soul mate Shelia Kennedy, Jasinski called autistic children "retards," and that because he worked with them he could call them whatever he wanted. His UAF supervisor soon issued a statement that he'd been fired. As the season wore on, however, many of Jasinski's critics softened, some suggesting he even exhibited autistic qualities himself. Jasinski's mother said in an interview that "he has a little Rain Man in him."

    After winning Big Brother on April 27, 2008, Jasinski announced he would donate one-fifth of his $500,000 in prize money to the foundation.
